Mulberry Postmans Lock - Issues

This is just because I wanted to continue on from a previous post about the Mulberry Agenda, where I was talking about why I probably shouldn't choose an Agenda with a Postmans Lock, well now I have some picture proof of mine.

Untitled

With a lot of use the lock gets very scratched and looks untidy and sad, it just does not stay looking beautiful, I know with age things can look nice but this looks tired and scratched, its the only thing I dislike about Dora.

But just think how much my agenda is going to be open and closed, therefore I believe it would be best to go for one of the lower priced organisers, as I will still love it, and use it to death it will just stay looking prettier for longer, as my Postmans lock on young Dora started to age after 2 months of use, I am not sure if that is a common thing but I didn't want to take it to be fixed or anything as I feel it would loose the value to me, not value in cost but how I feel when I use it, and how it makes me feel to hold, just the sentimental value. If that makes any sense  I may need to take her in to have the seal around the edge fixed though as it has come apart and looks a bit sad. But I am scared too. I love her too much!

On another point, I need to point something out:

Untitled

Last year Filofax sent me a beautiful Osterley, and people seemed to not like that fact. But I just wanted to let you know I am still using her, not for every day use but for looking after last years diary etc so I can look at it etc... I will never sell this Osterley due to the fact she has perfect rings, and that is a hard thing to come by these days, which makes her ever more special to me.

Also, quite often when I get a Filofax for free I also get one to give away to the people who read my blog, and I need you all to remember you do quite often get something out of reading my blog whether it be a prize in a competition or it be something that could of helped you in your Filofax, but you do get something. When ever I get the chance I hold competitions for you all. This wont change but some of your attitudes need to change big time.

I have never put a gun to anyone's head, or forced anyone to do something, so don't make it out like I have.

I put a lot of time and effort in to my blog, and most often ask for so little back. Therefore in future THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE, and if you want to say something to me rather than hide behind an anonymous name say it to my face, after all there are a lot more people that support me than don't.

If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all.

Do good things and good things will happen, do bad things and bad things will happen, Its Karma.

What's in My Bag - All Stars Post by Cat's Corner!

Hello all another lovely All Stars Guest post! But today from the Beautiful Cat’s Corner! She also has a Mulberry Alexa and was lucky enough to get it in the sale in the ultra Sexy print, she has taken some amazing detailed pictures to show all the details of this bag, so yes it shall be picture heavy! Thank you Cathryn for taking such amazing close ups for me! I love them!!!

When I first discovered Imy’s blog, I was excited to see that she not only loves Filofax, but handbags too!  So when the Philofaxy All Stars project came up, I knew I had to get involved and write a ‘What’s in my bag’ post for Imysworld!

Like Imy, I recently got a Mulberry Alexa handbag for my birthday – I chose the Alexa Hobo in ‘Trippy Tiger’ raffia.  This gorgeous bag is wonderfully light compared to a leather bag, and it’s really strong too.  I chose the ‘hobo’ style because it has a short shoulder strap, as well as a longer one to wear across the body (perfect for days out!).

There’s also a fantastic front pocket for my Slimline Amazona Filofax!

Since getting this bag, I’ve made a conscious effort to slim down my everyday contents, so that I can keep it nice and light.  The main section of the bag is HUGE and I only ever fill it if I’m carrying a lunch bag, cardigan, etc.

In the main section, every day, I carry:
·         A black Mulberry purse, which hubby gave me for Christmas several years ago – it’s the heaviest thing in the bag, but it’s great, full of pockets!  It has sections for individual cards, notes, receipts and a hidden pocket on the front, where I keep photos of hubby and I at our engagement party, wedding and honeymoon!
·         I also use a vintage Mulberry make-up bag (eBay bargain!) to carry essentials like lip balm (Blistex Intensive Moisturiser), face powder (No7), allergy pills, hand gel, etc.
·         My mobile phone, a HTC Desire, which I love, but I simply couldn’t use as an organiser – I need my Filofax for that!
·         A pack of tissues and a reusable shopping bag that folds out of a small pocket!

In the inside zipped pocket I hold my keys and work phone during the week, and my Filofax goes in the front pocket, along with a lippy and a funky four-colour biro!

And that’s it, unless I’m planning on sketching or reading, in which case I’ll also carry a Moleskine and watercolour kit or my Kindle!

I hope you’ve enjoyed a peek in my bag!  Read more about the things I love on my blog, www.cathryncook.co.uk

Thanks Imy for the opportunity to share with your readers, Cat x

Thank you again for coming and posting I have loved your bag and would love to have pics of them meeting one day hehe ;-)

Day 11 – What’s in your handbag?

Critters…..Today it is supposed to be a post about What is in my Make-up Bag?

But I could not be bothered with that, as my make up bag is full of so much rubbish and not much make up other than brushes and some foundation, so it wouldn’t really be of much interest, I will do it when its a lot better off, but at the moment I'm running out of foundation so I feel as if it would be a waist of our time!

So you all know my most beautiful and amazing bag in the world, which the best mummy in the world bought her daughter on her 21st birthday, her name is Dora, and if you don’t know about her, if you ever hear me refer to Dora, that is who I'm talking about, so here she is in all her slouchy glory!

So she is a twisted lock ;-) hehe and to little magnetic things on the flap, and oh I love her so, everything feels so safe in her, as if I struggle to get in to her, a criminal is going to find it hard! This is a good advertisement for getting this bag!

I’ve got my little compact spotty umbrella, it was drying so I had to take a photo like this, as you know it rains A LOT in the UK!

Then a few other things that were on my desk that were not in my bag, which I carry in my bag are following: -

My Mulberry Keyring which my Boyfriend bought me for Christmas, with work/house keys attached, and a bottle of Buxton water, not my favorite kind but cheapest, and yes I refill it, so I don’t just use a bottle every time I run out, I refill it 3 or more times a day, then bin it the next morning for a new one! (well recycle).

Lamsters and my Pencil, as the Lamy goes in my Filofax and the pencil goes in my zipped pocket!

A little shot inside my bag, as you can see I have a pink pocket Metrapole here, but not in the next picture, this is my Fab Frugal Filofax!

I will tell you everything else that is inside during the next photo.

Right so I am going to list things, clockwise starting on the left working my way over to the right: -

Vivienne Westwood Scarf for my hair
Model Mirror
Lip Smackers Fanta Lip Balm
Moo Business Cards
Chanel Astral 104 Lip Gloss
Clinique Foundation Compact
Pearly Shine Nivea (I think?)
Little Criminal made of felt my mum made me the other week, he comes everywhere!
Ipod earphones
Oyster card (other side is my bus ticket)
Foundation brush
Post it notes from Paperchase, revealed yesterday!
Wallet
Secretary/PA Convention invite that came in post today (not going)
Elizabeth Arden Double Density mascara
Blue inhaler
Be Delicious body spray, just in case
Rayban Wayfarers originals in black (LOVE THEM)

There is also tissue but you don’t ened to see that!

The bottom of my bag is so dirty!!!

That is all that is in my bag, I hope you have enjoyed it!!!

My Birthday Supprises! Shopping in London in Desginer Land!

Bonjourno!!!

WARNING WARNING WARNING PICTURE HEAVY!!!!

As you know it was my birthday on Sunday and I went to London on Monday! YAY!!!!

So I am going to write a lovely post about my shopping trip in London!

For my 21st my mum wanted to get me something special and I told her it was my dream to own a Chanel Jumbo Flap, and she said ok I will try and sort something out for you, I didn’t really think it meant she wanted to buy me a designer handbag I thought she just would plan a trip to London and try on all the bags? hehe

I paid for the train which came to just under £200! Which was slightly shocking but I thought it was worth it, being my 21st birthday and all!!!

Well we got to London around 2pm, and had to cue for ages to top up our oyster cards as they were rather low!

We finally got to Harrods and I wanted to have a look at all the different bags I was interesting in to get an idea of the one I liked the best and look at the puppy dogs, I went straight to Mulberry and saw the bag I liked the Alexa and then saw it in a different style in the colour I wanted, I knew exactly the colour I wanted from then on!

So we left and went straight to New Bond Street! We walked in and I knew what I wanted instantly, my AMAZING LOVELY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER, (who I love very much even though she made this extravagant purchase for me, which I would never of expected or anything, she said she wanted to get me something really special for my 21st birthday), so here is the best mother in the world, she liked the scenes in the windows: -

and then me standing outside with my bag in hand hehe

So I went off to Filofax after and bought some stuff from their, then on to Vivienne Westwood to buy something else and finally we went to the train, here is all my bags when I got home at 12am!

I will first of all unwrap the Vivienne Westwood bag for you!!!
