Staples Arc Notebook Haul

First things first..... I HATE THIS NEW BLOGGER!!!

Now back to the subject in hand...

On Sunday at the Philofaxy Roundtable we started to discuss this new notebook from Staples called the Arc. As I do I got all excited there was lots of screaming and eeeking etc.... I feel sorry for the people listening to me!

Here is a little video demonstration from the lovely FAKE Alex

Today at lunch time I rushed off to Staples and dragged poor Sian along!

Here are my purchases... I had to order some from Staples online which will get here tomorrow!

To-do lists

Online I ordered some coloured dividers and the small little note list sheet things!

I am going to try set it up as a diary, and have a dashboard at the front using one of the dividers, it is going to be oh so amazing!!! It also has a pen holder and all, so it is pretty amazing!!

I am very excited to set this up, and start to plan things, I will try and do photo step by step as I set it up!

I will be drawing my own diary pages, maybe doing some doodles too so it will be Dodo padish maybe? But in an Imysworld way!!!

I just had to share my purchase with you as I am so excited to use it!!!

The paper seems lovely too touch, it is 100gsm which is good :-) And I need to take out alot of the pages as I do not need to carry that much.

I am planning on having the following sections:

Diary

Planning - Youtube, Blog, Travel etc

Lists

Need to think about the other sections, but I am going to do the tabs using sticky notes to make it easy to change!

I am seriously so excited about all this!!! I hope you enjoy my little journey! I will try and make a Youtube video about the whole thing too!!! :-)

So you can all buy one CLICK HERE - Ps the paper is BEAUT!

  1. Imy, I look at this ALL the time. I try and see if the holes with work on something I have but they don't. They have it in my local staples - Lots of nice inserts. I can see if they have the pink one if it works for you - I don't remember seeing it but I was mostly looking at all the stuff inside, not outside. And the hole punch... which is too cool

  6. The Arc system is awesome!!! I have currently have two A5 notebooks, one with poly cover and a red leather one. I actually got the puncher for my birthday and being able to punch any kind of paper to fit into my notebooks is so cool. Get it if you can.

  7. Re: ARC hole punch in the UK.

A really helpful lady in Staples' sales office asked about availability of the hole punch at a stasff meeting, on my behalf. The answer forwarded to me was that there are currently no plans to offer this item in the UK. I got her to pass the message back that there are many of us over here in the UK who simply won't adopt the ARC system without the hole punch. Having said that, the high quality 100gsm paper (changed from 80gsm due to customer feedback) is good value at just 2 quid for fifty sheets of A4. A big shout out goes to Staples for not only thoroughly answering my query, but also supplying me with test paper free of charge.

  9. They *cannot* be serious about not releasing the punch over here! I love their refills, sure, but without the punch they make it so limited! And what will happen if they decide to stop selling the refills someday? Please, does anyone have any ideas about alternative ways to punch the paper that we can find in the UK?

    1. I have been rooting aroun the Internet trying to find alternative ways to get one in the UK, and came across a site called bongo which gives you a US address and then forwards the package to you in the UK. This might be a viable option, however I cannot find the dimensions of the original packaging to see if I can afford the shipping. Does anyone know the dimensions of the box and weight so I can get a shipping quote please?

  10. I was told by someone on the Staples twitter account that the punch would be available in the UK from September. Obviously it would need to be re-tooled for the UK paper sizes, so that's why the long wait, I guess.

I've asked them again, as it's not on the Staples website, but no reply as yet.

  13. I went to Staples today and there was a space for the hole punch but an 'out of stock' sign on the shelf. They also now have plain paper (2 quid for A5), a clear ruler (a pound!) and also red, green and blue leather Arcs.
