TBT / Guide to Setting up a New Filofax and Keeping it Organised

It has been a long long long long time!!

And I am not sure if it is supposed to be Take back Tuesday or Thursday, I really don't get how these things work? But today I just wanted to share these videos I made in 2011 for you!

I want to over the next few weeks show you how my ideas might of changed since this video or how I organise and the things I find useful might of changed, I am not fully sure so bear with me.

But I love these videos because I love the little ears I am wearing in the second two, those were always my ears of choice and I miss wearing them, and I feel writing my blog and doing youtube videos is my time to wear them.

It may only be a small little hello, but I will try and schedule some posts and plan some things as I want to show you how to make something some time soon! I will start getting photos for that tonight!

2015 Diary Planning - A5 Flex by Filofax Option

Today I will go over the basics of my idea of using a Flex by Filofax, which would have to be in A5 size due to none of the other sizes working with other notebooks other than the Filofax notebooks which could get costly.

This is the cheapest idea of all of them due to all I would need to buy is a Diary, I have loads of unused A5 cute notebooks and plain ones too which could all be used as part of my plan!

Today I went in to TK Maxx to see what binders they had on sale and I saw a Flex cover, I thought what a PERFECT time to buy it as I can use it to see if it would work as a bound planner. I wouldn't of bought it if it was expensive as it is only a test, it was £7.99.

I will use the Things To Do notebook as a To-Do list, of course just as part of my test, to see if I can use it instead! I am not sure how much I can move to  a bound diary.

All the reasons are the same as the Midori as to why I would go for this idea as a Diary, except they are held together differently!!!

2015 Diary Planning - Midori Option

Today I am going to talk about my Midori option for 2015 (I know you are all thinking, oh no not another one)

This would be my third I believe, I can't help it I love them but have struggled to use them, but for this time I will actually be using them for a certain reason!

What you get in the pack is 2015 Diary, in two books (that is the one thing I am not sure about) the cover and some stickers.

The diary is a week on one page with a page for notes, which I have always found seems to be a great combination for working with.

The two books are blue, one an Aqua and the other a Navy blue. The only thing I do not like is that it comes in two books, they also do have a monthly diary you can have but I would like my diary all to be in one, but I really love the functionality of the Midori as you can have different notebooks for different things.

I have been experimenting with the Midori diary (as I have a 2012 diary) photos will be below, and I have noticed I could probably include my to-do lists, and finances all on one sheet, I can keep track of my finances at the side of the diary and on the other side I can have my to do lists, with the main diary part being a place to keep track of everything I need too.

Also here is the last time I used the diary in 2012, November, I like the size of the pages as they are a lot bigger than Filofax pages and a lot more room!!!

The notebooks are quite cheap as well, and you can customise the outsides!!! I could cover the outsides in Washi Tape and they are a lot easier to file away and keep!

Here is a close up of how I have done my Finances and To-Do's on the pages.

I haven't been using this solely as it is out of date and I am using my Gillio up until the end of 2014! I want to have a fresh start in a new diary which is why I feel the beginning of 2015 will be the best time to start with a bound diary!!

I obviously will be able to go and grab my Gillio and use that if it all failed but I think it is worth a try.....

2015 Diary Planning

I really really want to use a bound diary for 2015, I want to use soemthing that I am more likely to keep and not just get rid of like I do with my Filofax refills.

I have come up with a few options;

- 2015 Smythson in Crocidilla my beautiful gillio 

- A6 diary in a hobonichi cover 

- Midori travelers notebook with diary 

- A5 flex by Filofax with a cute a5 diary 

I will do a few posts with a bit of an in depth discussion on my options over the coming weeks whilst I decide on the option I want to choose

Midori Traveler's Notebook a Plan!

As you all know I got the Midori (insert EEEEEEEK here) and I have been trying to work out what to do with it. Oh and it had a horrible Mothball smell, which I turned in to a coffee mothball urge fest. Well you will not be pleased to know but it now smells like choc ice's! How can I turn something vile smelling to something strange smelling!??

Anyway here she is looking a bit more used and I will explain how I will use this beautiful Notebook..... I have plans. BIG PLANS

I want to have the front page of the notebook with an Alice in Wonderland Theme.... so far I have just stuck a small Alice sticker in the box, it looks very minamalist, I am hoping to maybe turn it in to Alice falling down the rabbit hole and maybe have a few playing cards falling etc... that is all to be planned out though (I have a strange love for Alice in Wonderland, if I am ever to get married, that shall be the theme for the evening function, pointless knowledge there for you).

I cut off an A4 sheet of paper in to the size of the Midori (it was very easy... maybe I could make my own Midori Notebooks.......hmmmm) and I lined it and used my date stamp in order to try the idea of a diary!

I loved the look of it, therefore I had to do more in the diary, so I have decided each notebook will be a months worth of notes, diary things, scrap booking etc... it will just be a month of fun! Each page can have something different on, some with doodles some with fun... we shall see...

Due to the fact it is an end of the month this will be my October - November notebook, instead of re doing the sheet I had already done, I used the spare elastic band to hold that in!!! Clever or what!!! I need to get some elastic bands to hold more books, I want 4 in there ideally!!! I would love to have a Christmas planning one and cover it in wrapping paper..... I shall be making that!!!

Here is an overview of the diary, I fudged some days up and stamped the day before and ended up stamping over it to make a huge mess!!! oops!!!

So far all I have done "fun" wise is write a little to-do list, which is not fun at all. Sorry!

So far my view is the paper feels very nice, I would love to just be able to mess around and try out all pens but it would feel a waste!!! We shall see if I can come up with a way of testing it!!

This Quagmire is getting Boggier.....

My bog continues, and during my bog I saw that Plannerisms posted a post called Planner Quagmire (hence why the bog references and the title).

Yesterday lunch time I went to look at the Flex by Filofax cover again to see if my Cahier notebook would fit.... they do...

I then today decided I should answer Lauries Questions...

From this I decided for the temporary time being I would use my Cahier Moleskine for notes!

My heart is telling me Midori Travelers Notebook...........

Back to the Finchley.......

My Filofax has been in Filofax Failure for a few weeks now, I haven't been able to get in to it, I haven't been able to fix it and make it work for me, so TODAY I decided I would sit down at the kitchen table and CRACK ON!

I covered the Kitchen table with all my Stationery, my Filofaxes and everything I needed to get going!

Looks like a complete mess.......it was a complete mess!

I first of all emptied out my Finchely, I was using it as storage, and I emptied my Deco ready for sale...

Here is everything I had on my table after.... everything I had taken out!

Then I started to organise everything, whilst I was doing this I noticed a small Arc Hack!

The little lists sheets you can buy, if you have it so there is 3 holes you can then put it on the two middle rings, and you can have the little lists and move them around. It was all so very exciting!

Kalamari decided to get in the way and sit on my Arc, whilst I was trying to transfer over one lot of information from that to my Filofax..... She loves to be awkward!

(Have you noticed when ever I try to do something, she ALWAYS seems to end up on my blog! Sneaky Kitty trying to get famous)

She wouldn't look at me though, no matter what I tried!

I have now finished setting up my Filofax, Sorry there was not many photos of the actual process... but I have the final finished product now!

So as you know already I decided to use my Finchley Personal in Vintage Pink!

Then when you open it I have my DASHBOARD It is GENIOUS....

Things I need to remember MADE IN CHELSEA is very important! As you all should know!!!

I use the following Tabs

First is Agenda.... I am using my Month to view, and I made it look a bit pretty, I decided to use a today ruler too..(I am not going to write about all the tabs, as I would be here until Christmas)

Then my week to view also has a diary, and I made this pretty too by using some Alice in Wonderland tape!

Then my Arc hacked page thingy whatsit..

A finance sheet as I want to try and record what I am spending my money on!

AGES ago Tracy sent me some owl page tabs, and I decided they were too pretty to use....

I have Sticker OCD, I like them all tidy on the sticker sheets, I do not like to use them, I just leave them on there, I have lots and lots of sheets at them, some in duplicate just because I am kinda too scared to take them off as I know it will all go wrong!

YES STICKER OCD IS A NEWLY FOUND ISSUE

Back to my little post...

Tracy sent me these Owl stickers and I have been too scared to use them DUE to my Sticker OCD....But i used some!

I had used some of my Arc notepaper to write some notes for an Interview, someone is interviewing me on their blog... so I just answered the questions, but I decided to write out bullet points in my Arc, but as I am back to my Filofax (WHO SAW THAT HAPPENING) I had to hole punch the sheets and put them in my Filofax!

It has worked out quite well tho! 

Then I am doing a blog post on a blog called Inter/Act on Tumblr, so I did a mind map, Brain Storm whatsit, I know everyone calls them something different, but I am today going to call it a wooly sheep that's head fell off?

See an Owl to mark it's place! ;)

Then I have my to-do lists....

Nothing too exciting I tried to brighten them up. I am trying to make my whole Filofax more pretty and less FORMAL

Then last....I have the two to do list items Damien wrote for me in the back as they make me smile when I read them... 

Silly little things I know, but that's the way the cookie crumbles, There is a lot more in here which i changed to make more pretty but it was all things that I could not show due to the fact they had details that were private on....SORRY

To finish it off, we parked near St Mawes Castle on Monday, and it was so pretty I want to share my photo...

I love how the HDR mode messes with the photos, and my little wobble has made it so the turret doesn't line up.... I also Instagrammed it.... I am ADDICTED... Imysworld in case you were wondering....like EVERYTHING ELSE!!!! 

Filofax Planning and Organisation

So today I'm going to be talking about Planning for your new Planner!

Now I know that sounds nuts but I will show you a picture below of my planning’s for my new planner: -

Between all the decision making of a Malden Personal or a Special Pocket Filofax Mmm, I have also been working out how to use them, I did a post on my Filofax conclusions towards what I'm going to do with them, Filofax Solutions and as you can see I decided what I was going to do with each, well I'm not getting both at the same time, and one is a present so yeah. But I am going to get the Malden either on my birthday depending on the bad I get or at the September meet up, I haven’t quite yet decided! (oh and I need to save for the meet up in September).

So back to the picture above, this is the planning for my Malden/Personal Filofax, I am going to start to set it up in my Amazona for now so I can have it all ready to go when I get the Malden and swap it all over so I have a whole new organiser all set up and ready to rock, its going to take A LONG time to set this up!

So first thing on the list will be a tab called Diary (I'm going to use the see through tabs you can change as many times as you like and cover them with a collage to make them look pretty) so I'm either going to get day to a page or two days to a page, leaning towards two days to a page as more practical and still plenty of room, I am also going to have a monthly diary, which I already have and I'm just going to put that in! Good for quick planning!

Next I'm going to have a Planning Tab, yes this is a planning post and I'm planning to have a planning tab, I really thing I have gone over the top! I forgot to mention each section within the tabs is going to be colour coded I have yet to plan that!

So I will have a place to plan future blog posts, youtube videos, and travel arrangements!

Then its going to go on to Loves (in other words things I like)

I shall have a Lists tab and each list will be different not all to-do lists! I have started to plan a bit about the paper on this one.

To-do – Cotton Cream, now everyone has a to-do list, I'm going to make less to-do lists as I just love the cotton cream paper!

General – just lists of things to pack etc..

That list above isn’t my final list of lists there will most likely be more, like the 30 days of lists is starting again soon so I will probably have a section for that too!

Information, now this is where it gets a bit complicated!

Social – now this is going to be like if someone has a blog, twitter and Facebook, so I don’t get confused I'm going to write down all their things next to each other so I know who is who, I easily get confused and think I'm talking to someone else, I so I just want something to keep it straight in my mind!

Addresses – HM Revenue and Customs, people I know, pen pals etc…

Telephone numbers – I know this will be under addresses but I just want a list to look at quickly!

Club Card Details – as in Debenhams beauty details in case I loose them

Password – online banking, Facebook etc

Important – Phone contract details etc, so I know when they end and how much they are etc… and also it will have a list of all my direct debits to control my funds better!

Then finally Other?

Well I have not decided on the last tab but this will include things like Magazine clippings tickets random pieces of stuff to remind me about things, if you have any ideas for my final tab let me know, or if I have missed anything let me know!

I want to be super organised!

I know it all sounds a bit OCDish to go to this much effort to organise but that’s me I'm a bit like that!

Diet Planning

BONJOURNO!!!!!!!!!!

Diet happenings are coming

Well so i wanted to tell you what im going to be doing, I am starting the "Imysworld Diet", yes there is such a thing!

I have created dieting sheets to fill out, i have been planning meals, thinking about what i can and cant eat, im going to set out some rules in a minute.

I will tell you more on February 1st when my diet commences!

I am 13 stone 3 pounds :'( and i want to get down to 11 stone 3 pounds (well thats my first weight i want to get to, im going to do it over stages)

So Look out for my diet diary! :) Xxxx
